National Trends and Services

Links Connected To Advocate For Our Communities

The vision of The Links, Incorporated National Trends and Services (NTS) facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. The mission is to equip our chapters with what is necessary to effectively empower the communities in which we work.

Currently, NTS encompasses the following programs and committees with national partners and sponsors, each committed to the overall vision and mission of the facet.

AARP Links Academy
The Links, Incorporated is partnering with AARP to implement the AARP Links Academy. This innovative, comprehensive program provides tools and resources to support African-American women who are either preparing for life as they age or are currently dealing with the aging process.

Our chapter program includes components for preventative measures during each specific life stage and provides health, wellness, and financial support and services to the 50+ community.

Legislative Issues, Public Affairs, and Disaster Relief Committee
This committee places its major emphasis on an advocacy agenda and collaborating with the Congressional Black Caucus.

Our chapter's NTS facet program focuses on an advocacy agenda for Legislative Issues, Public Affairs, and Disaster Relief. The facet has implemented a Voter Registration and Link Up The Vote (LUTV) campaign and hosted a Black Lives Matter forum to provide updated current information to all citizens of the Treasure Coast.

Link Up The Vote (LUTV) is an initiative with a mission to educate, motivate, and activate residents in underserved communities in an effort to increase voter participation. LUTV forums are held at all chapter health symposiums and public events in each of the Treasure Coast Counties of Indian River, Martin, and St Lucie.

A Black Lives Matter" forum with renowned author, Dr. Michael Dyson, was held in St Lucie County with more than 250 in attendance.

The NAACP, Florida Coalition of Black Civic Participation, Let My People Vote congregations, and Panhellenic organizations are just a few of our public policy and LUTV partners.
